Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What types of organizations do you support?

Cascade HR specializes in helping small businesses, nonprofits, churches, and startups. Whether you haven't hired your first employee yet, or already have fourty employees, we provide tailored HR solutions to fit your size, mission, and budget.

What HR services do you offer?

We offer a wide range of services, including:

  • HR compliance audits

  • Employee handbooks and policy creation

  • Hiring and onboarding support

  • Payroll setup and administration

  • Performance management systems

  • Employee relations and conflict resolution

  • Termination guidance and offboarding

  • HR strategy and leadership coaching

  • Training on harassment prevention, DEI, and leadership

Do you offer one-time projects or only ongoing support?

Both! We provide one-time project support (like an employee handbook or HR audit), as well as ongoing monthly memberships for businesses looking for consistent HR partnership. We’ll work with you to find a plan that fits your needs.

How do I know if my business needs HR help?

If you're spending time trying to navigate employment laws, resolve people issues, or handle hiring and terminations on your own—you're probably ready for HR support. Many clients reach out when they:

  • Start hiring employees for the first time

  • Experience turnover or conflict

  • Receive a complaint or need help investigating an issue

  • Want to grow their team the right way and stay compliant

Are your services virtual or in-person?

Most of our services are virtual so we can support clients across Washington State and beyond. However, we do offer in-person support for clients in the Puget Sound region, especially for trainings or complex HR situations that benefit from on-site support.

What makes Cascade HR different from other HR firms?

We take a hands-on, relational approach to HR. You won’t get a cookie-cutter solution—we’ll learn about your business, understand your values, and build a compliant, people-centered HR system that fits your goals. We’re also a woman-owned business with experience across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors.

Can you help us with church-specific HR issues?

Yes! We understand the unique needs of faith-based organizations. From pastoral employment contracts to navigating employment law for ministries, we provide respectful, legally-sound HR support for churches and religious nonprofits.

Why is Cascade HR a good fit for small businesses?

Unlike big-box HR services that speak in corporate jargon, we focus on the needs of growing teams, lean operations, and mission-driven work. Our clients include:

  • Family-run businesses

  • Startups and growing companies

  • Faith-based organizations

  • Community nonprofits

  • Trade services and local shops

We understand how tight resources can be—and we help you stretch them while staying compliant and building a healthy workplace culture.

What background do you have that makes you qualified to support?

Each member of Cascade HR has passed thorough criminal and professional background checks and brings a strong foundation of integrity and experience. Together, we represent nearly 50 years of combined work experience, over 20 years in higher education, and a wealth of credentials and specialized training.

Rooted in strong values and a commitment to ethical standards, we’re not just qualified—we’re passionate about providing thoughtful, strategic HR support you can rely on.

"As a small business, we never thought we'd need an HR consultant, but working with Cascade HR has been one of our best decisions. They made sense of the stuff we didn't even know we needed, like employee policies, safety guidelines, and hiring practices. If you’re in the trades and think HR isn’t for you, think again. Cascade HR makes it easy and worthwhile. Highly recommend!"
